Alexander de Bie (2001) – Organist & Pianist

Alexander de Bie (born 2001) grew up with a deep-rooted fascination for classical music, in which the organ and piano have always held a special place. From an early age, he felt that music was more than an art form — it was a way to tell stories, share emotions, and connect people. Guided by this conviction, he continually seeks ways to convey his passion to a broad and diverse audience. His aim is not only to bring grand and impressive repertoire to life, but also to share profound and intimate music that invites reflection and stillness. His concerts are characterized by a lively alternation of repertoire, original programming, and innovative presentation forms. He is not afraid of surprising combinations — such as merging live organ music with video projections or linking centuries-old compositions to a contemporary listening experience.

Education
Alexander began his musical journey with his father, Jack de Bie, from whom he received his first piano lessons at the age of five. A year later, he started organ lessons with Jos van der Kooy as a student in the Young Talent Class of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. At sixteen, he continued his piano studies with Nino Gvetadze in the Young Talent Class of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Since 2020, Alexander has been studying at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (MDW), pursuing bachelor’s degrees in Konzertfach Orgel under Professor Martin Haselböck and Konzertfach Klavier under Professors Christopher Hinterhuber and Christoph Traxler. His organ bachelor’s recital was awarded the distinction Eins mit Auszeichnung — the highest honour bestowed by the program.
From autumn 2025, Alexander will continue his artistic development with a master’s degree organ under Professor Dr. Martin Schmeding at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig — a new step in which he aims to further deepen his interpretative insight and artistic vision.
